Yes To Coconut Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Lotion Spray Review

Friday, 16 October 2015

Yes To is one of my favourite skincare brands that I go back to time and time again. Two of my favourite products from the brand are the Yes To Grapefruit Uneven Skin Tone Moisturiser and the Yes To Carrots Super Rich Body Butter. Both are brilliant and well worth a try! So when I spotted these 3 coconut products I had to give them a go.

Coconut is so in right now! You can't pick up a magazine or visit a beauty website without a '10 ways to use coconut oil' article popping up. I don't usually buy into food related beauty trends but I must say, every coconut based product I've tried has really worked for me! Especially when it comes to my hair. I've been raving about the OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Oil and the Body Shop Coconut Oil Hair Shine for a while now and these Yes To products are a very welcome addition to my coconut hair and body care collection.

First let's talk about the shampoo and conditioner...

At £5.99 a bottle these are really well priced, plus I'm pretty sure they were on offer for around £4 each when I got them. Those of you who watch my YouTube channel know I'm very happy to over spend when it comes to hair care. I expected these to be around £10 each so when I saw the price I was pleasantly surprised! You get quite a bit for your money too as each bottle holds 280ml of product.

The shampoo has more of an authentic coconut smell whilst the conditioner has a sweeter, milkier coconut smell to it. However both smell great regardless of the difference. The scent isn't overly strong but it's not too weak either and it did leave a light coconut scent to my hair afterwards which I loved. Between that and the scent of the body lotion spray on my body I was totally giving off island princess vibes.

The formula is nice, it could be thicker but it gets the job done. The conditioner is definitely on the runnier side and It's milkier then the shampoo, but it spreads through the hair nicely so no complaints here. I personally prefer thicker products as I think they feel more luxurious, but both the shampoo and conditioner did a great job regardless of the formula thickness. My hair was left feeling soft, light and fresh after just one wash.

At £5.99 each I would definitely buy them again and I'm now tempted to try out some of the other products from Yes To's hair care line.

Here's my thoughts on the body lotion spray....

I love the bottle! The spray nozzle is quite gimmicky but I'm totally buying into the fun of it all haha. Quick warning though, the first time I sprayed it I got it all over the wall so be careful! Also a little goes a long way. Each spray looks like a small amount but once you start rubbing it in the product disperses beautifully meaning all you need is a few sprays to get the job done.

The scent is lovely. When I first tried it I was at cheer and all the girls could smell it from outside the changing room. I ended up passing it around for everyone to use because they liked the smell so much. The lotion sunk in extremely fast leaving no residue, oil or stickiness on my skin and left me feeling soft and very moisturised.

I would definitely buy this product again! It's a great moisturiser which I especially like because it sinks in so quickly, perfect to use just before cheer or any other sporting activity. The coconut smell is lovely, a touch on the milkier side of coconut scents but it works. Another plus is that the bottle is bigger then I expected and because a little goes a very long way I doubt I'll have to replace it for a quite a while. Overall it's another winner from Yes To!

Have you tried anything from the Yes To ranges? Let me know what your favourite product is so I can try it next! Also you can click the products pictures below to shop this post :)

Until next time, J xx
