Justin Bieber Dance Class

Monday, 18 January 2016

I love to dance! The only reason I go out half the time is because I want to hit the dance floor. I'm at my happiest when I'm jumping up and down to a sick beat, preferably in a dance circle with my friends, and preferably at a house rave but I'll settle for any genre as long as the vibe is good.

One of my only regrets in life is not continuing to dance when I was younger. As a child I was always in performing arts classes and spent years at Pineapple dance studios as a member of their performing arts program. I was a back row dancer but regardless of my lack of ability I still absolutely loved it! (In my defense I was a pretty good singer though so I wasn't a complete performing arts mess) When I started cheerleading I quickly worked my way up to the front row of the dance section before becoming centre point dancer and that's where I've danced for the past 5 years.

I've always longed for more dance though, 20 seconds at the end of a cheer routine is never enough. I tried going back to Pineapple as an adult but the vibe was off. As someone who spent so much of their childhood in those dance studios I want to say the vibe was warm and welcoming when I returned but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, no one was mean or anything, it was just cold and had a slightly exclusive feel about it. I never left wanting more, I never felt good enough and eventually stopped attending classes. I also tried the city academy ballet classes and the staff were lovely! But I grew bored as I'm not a ballet dancer, I'm a party girl lol.

After all of this I gave up on my dream of dancing more and settled for centre point thinking it was the only dance opportunity available to me. Until one day my friend Andi invited me to try out Seen On Screen dance classes with her. She always goes on about how much she loved dancing with them before she started cheer and shes one of the nicest people I know, so if she likes it I knew I'd like it. We decided to try the Justin Bieber Sorry masterclass and long story short, all my dance class dreams came true!

I've not had as much fun as I did at Seen On Screen in years! The staff were lovely, welcoming and encouraging, everything you could possibly want from a dance teacher. I never felt awkward or excluded and I didn't want to leave at the end because I loved it so much! It was fun, energetic, a serious workout and the most perfect environment for someone like me. Someone who loves to dance but isn't a pro and just wants to have fun. Walking into a Seen On Screen dance class vs walking into a Pineapple dance class felt like polar opposites. Pineapple will always have a special place in my heart and I will always love it, but I personally feel like it's more suited for pros or people who have danced all of their life. It's a tad on the intimidating side whilst Seen On Screen is for everybody and extremely welcoming and encouraging. I'm pretty sure it's the only place I'll be dancing for the foreseeable future!

I have a tonne of Pilate's sessions I've already paid for so will be sticking to that for now but as soon as I've used them up I think I'll be more of a regular at Seen On Screen instead. I'm in desperate need of more cardio in my life and couldn't hate running more if I tried so SOS is perfect for me! If you're looking for a great time with your friends, a great fun workout or if you're like me and just love releasing your inner Britney music video girl then you'll love SOS too!

Their class timetable and all other info is available on their website seenonscreenfitness.com and I highly recommend you check them out. It's one of the funnest things to come into my life and I cant wait to take more classes!
