Introducing Alboe

If my blog was a Pokemon it totally just evolved ayyyy.

Hey guys welcome back! If you haven't already noticed things are looking a little different around here. A new name, new blog address and fancy new layout. Everything's a tad more snazzy and I love it!

ALBOE by J stands for A Little Bit Of Everything by Jaydee, which is what this blog has been called for a while now even though the actual web address has been Whenever I talk about my blog in real life I call it Alboe, because it's full name is an entire sentence in itself. It got to the point where it became weird for me to even refer to it as because that's not what it is to me. It's Alboe, my little corner of the internet, sister to Jaymfs my little corner of youtube, and it's about time I gave it it's own identity.

I also wanted my name back.

When I originally started my current youtube channel and blog they were both called Jaydee Stone. My full name plastered everywhere and I owned it, but as time went on it no longer felt right. There is so much more to who I am then just my youtube channel and blog, and it bothered me that anyone visiting either would think that that is all I am. For example, the content on my youtube channel is primarily Beauty and Fashion focused, but that's far from my only interest. Beauty and Fashion is 10% of what I love meaning my channel only represents a small part of who I am. It didn't feel right anymore to associate my name with such a small part of myself, so it was time to give it it's own identity. That's also why a few months ago I discreetly changed my youtube name from Jaydee Stone to Jaymfs.

Way before my sneaky little youtube name change I did the exact same thing to my instagram. It was a few Christmases ago and I was collaborating with Primark on a Christmas jumper instagram post. How ridiculous does that last sentence sound?? lol, anyway... All I had to do was post an instagram picture in my Primark Christmas jumper and write about how Primark donates some of their Christmas jumper profits to charity. As much as I love and support what Primark do with their charitable donations, it just didn't feel right to have that post on my personal instagram page. A blatant ad all up in my personal space, it threw me off and began what I frequently refer to as my youtube identity crisis.

By using my real name for all of my accounts I seriously blurred the lines between the reality of who I am as a person and the hobby I enjoy online. I think this is something a lot of bloggers and youtubers struggle with, it's so easy to lose yourself in this game. To fall into the trap of keeping up with the Joneses and constantly and unnecessarily strive to become as polished as a professional magazine. I am a 90's child of the internet, raised in the social media revolution and I missed my online personal space, so I took it back. Every single Jaydee Stone account is now personal again. No ads, no youtube promo, no shout out to my new blog post, just me being me, hanging with friends, taking a pic of the sunset, whatever the hell I want to post and I bloody love it.

My online hobbies now have their own identities. They are individuals in their own right and the experience for me as a creator now is so much more fun! My blog is my little Alboe, random and uncategorised, simple and easy to navigate, exactly the blog I want it to be. My youtube, my little Jaymfs, is in all honesty still figuring itself out but I've established it as it's own identity now and that's the first step. I've slowly started adding fashion videos back and recently uploaded the first travel vlog I've made in over a year. I'm currently in the process of figuring out exactly what video content I want to make and share. I haven't fully decided yet but I think I may take the Alboe route and just post whatever the hell I want. It's my channel after all, I can do as I please.

The best thing about all of these changes is that they've revived my passion for creating. I want to be here again, I want to write and to edit and to create. I find myself writing potential blog posts whilst sitting at the bus stop and catch myself smiling because I'm loving the stuff I'm writing. I buy tickets to events purely because I love the theme and have a vision of filming the event in slow motion for an amazing come along with me video. I stop halfway through crossing the road to take a picture of the sunset from the perfect angle that I spotted whilst walking by, just in case I need a pretty header picture for a future blog post. It is the most amazing feeling, to create simply because you want to, to post new content because the desire to share drives you to do it.

I am not just a youtuber or a blogger or instagramer, I am a creator. I find my zen in the work. The long nights getting lost in editing, looking at the clock after what you thought was 1 hour and realising it's been 5. Putting photos together in the perfect order in a blog post, making sure they flow and tell the story exactly how I want it to be told. But more importantly then being a creator I am Jaydee Stone, and there is so much to who I am, which is why the rebrand of all of my online accounts was essential. For me I just knocked down all of the boundaries. I am Jaydee Stone, I am Jaymfs, I am Alboe and I am so much more with no limits. I am whoever and whatever I want to be in that moment. It's personal freedom as well as creative freedom and that's what I've spent the last few years striving for.

With great freedom comes great confidence and I am honestly happier these days then I've been in years. I think this is the happiest I've been in my entire adult life. I look back at old personal posts and videos and the growth is amazing. I guess this is adult life ay? Every time I think I've found myself I keep finding more and this online rebrand was a huge step in the right direction for me and my happiness.

I cant wait to see where I go from here content and life wise and I hope you come along for the ride!

Until next time, J xx

  1. Great new look Jaydee,I love it

    1. Thank you! I'm so in love with how everything looks, it's the cherry on top that other people like it too xx

  2. Love the site refresh. For what it's worth, I'd love to see more than beauty & fashion content on your Youtube Channel. Maybe cross over the ALBOE theme there?

    1. Yeah that's what I'm thinking to do. The way my Youtube channel is right now I'm just not finding it satisfying enough like I need more variety. I have a few more brand collabs to do then I plan on shaking things up :D

Thanks for commenting! Check out your blog now xx
