Perfect Wedding Guest Attire

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a friends wedding and to say the day was perfect is an understatement. The venue was so pretty and the weather was gorgeous! Sunshine all day and a beautiful bride and groom to match.

Dressing for weddings is in my opinion one of the hardest fashion occasions, there are so many rules! I spent weeks scrolling through my favourite sites fretting over every detail. What's the right length? Is that neckline too low? Can you wear mesh at a wedding? Can I dance in that during the surprise flash mob? I completely over think it every time.

I eventually ended up back in the Stratford Westfield Missguided store (seriously my second home these days lol) and found this lilac long sleeve number that ticked all my boxes. Not too clubby, not too short, classy, covered and it has a serious 80's prom vibe going on with it's cute ruffled hemline that I love. I teamed it with a pair of sparkly shoes that I got a while ago from the New Look and a metallic clutch bag I'm obsessed with that I found in Primark.

The shoes and glasses above are the closest match I could find but the dress is the exact one I wore on the day. The bag being from Primark is unavailable online but if I spot a similar one I'll come back and add it to this post.

A messy but not too messy updo and sunglasses to match the bag (H&M) completed my outfit and honestly I couldn't be happier with my look for the day. Lilac is one of my favourite colours but I can never find anything in this shade so I'm really chuffed I came across this dress. It's definitely something I would wear again too so worth every penny.

On my dress journey I came across some gorgeous dresses and thought I'd save them all here. Partly to share with you guys and also because I have 2 more weddings this year and cannot bring myself to go through the stress of the dress hunt again. Enjoy :)
